"60 WAYS TO BANISH FEVER BLISTERS"

AN OVERVIEW OF THE BOOK

This book is arranged in four chapters dealing with different aspects of the subject matter.

CHAPTER ONE

The first chapter details what I refer to as triggers.  These are 11 different external or internal influences which cause the release of the Herpes virus from a dormancy state imposed by your immune system at the cellular level.  They include such things as constipation and sleep deprivation.  Basically they comprise a series of easy to understand rules to help your body keep the virus in its prison.  These rules are much more valuable than any treatment because it is far better to prevent fever blisters than to treat them, even with the best possible treatment.

CHAPTER TWO

Chapter two contains internal treatments which are second in importance to triggers.  Internal remedies are second because they can often be used to prevent outbreaks in the same way that avoidance of triggers can.  Additionally of course they are extremely effective in treating existing outbreaks, particularly in combination with external remedies.

CHAPTER THREE

Chapter three is concerned with what everyone naturally expects in a book of this nature.  External treatments.  This is the chapter where you would find the witch's brew containing bat wings and snake eyes, if there were such a remedy.  Everyone hopes to find a magic salve which will cause a fever blister to disappear completely within the hour.  These are the least important of all the remedies because they have little to do with prevention.  All the remedies work whether the outbreaks you have are above (Type 1) or below (Type 2) the belt.

CHAPTER FOUR

Chapter four is an attempt to help you be more in touch with the process of the virus's release from dormancy so that you can be in effective internal and external treatment at such an early stage that the virus outbreak never fully materializes.  The theme running through all of the chapters is two fold.  First you must assume responsibility for the oversight of  and much active participation in your own treatment.  Second you must experiment with all the remedies to discover which 6, or 8, or 10 are most effective for you as an individual.  That's why there was a need for so many remedies.  No single remedy or group of remedies acts the same way for different people.  For example, you might come to use 2 internal remedies everyday to pump up your immune system while avoiding 3 triggers which are particularly harmful to you personally.  These 5 remedies will prevent many outbreaks, but if you have a weak outbreak then you jump on it with an additional internal remedy and 2 externals, 1 for home use and 1 for work.
